Adult Classes

Is it time to take your skills to another level?  Do you want to get out of the shed and make some new friends? Feeling the need to dust off your instrument and get back in the game?  Now is the time! YLJC is offering adult classes!
Adult Combos will consist of six or more students and are available to all skill levels—instrumentalists who are new to jazz,  part-timers, or seasoned veterans. 
Class meetings will be in the evenings on Wednesdays or Thursdays at 6:00 PM or 7:45 PM and will follow the current class calendar. 

Auditions

 There is no formal audition process. Instead, we will hold an informal meet-and-greet followed by a jam session with instructors. Once the instructors have a feel for everyone’s playing ability, they will group adult students into combos. Adult students must register to participate in the meet-and-greet jam session—no registration fees  

Tuition

Adult tuition is $1,400 for the academic season (30 classes). For adult students joining for just the spring semester (18 classes), the tuition is $840.  Students enrolled in college will receive a 50% discount.

Billing will be sent via email once classes have started.

  • October 8-14: NO CLASSES - Indigenous Peoples' Day-Columbus Day
  • November 19-27: OPEN HOUSE WEEKEND
  • November 26-30: NO CLASSES (Thanksgiving Break)
  • December 17: ALL ENSEMBLES RECITAL
  • December 12: Audition Videos Due (2nd Semester)
  • December 18-January 6: NO CLASSES (Winter Break)
  • January 7-13: First Week of Second Semester
  • January 14-20: NO CLASSES (Martin Luther King Holiday)
  • February 18-24: NO CLASSES (President's Weekend)
  • April 8-14: NO CLASSES (Spring Break)
  • April 29-May 1: OPEN HOUSE WEEKEND
  • May 27-June 2: NO CLASSES (Memorial Day/Week)
  • June 3-9: LAST WEEK OF CLASSES  
  • June 10: ALL ENSEMBLES RECITAL
